Dean Refram's Personal Used Irons, Woods & Putter in Full Size Bag w/Bag Tags
Mr. Dean Refram was a PGA touring professional who filed a proposed lawsuit claiming the PGA was
going to outlaw and declare ‘croquet’ style putting strictly illegal. Dean claimed that such a restriction
would eliminate his style which he depended on due to a visual impairment. The croquet style of putting
was used by several other tour players as well and unfortunately the PGA prevailed. Dean and his father
designed and developed the original Saddlebrook Golf Club in Wesley Chapel Florida. Dean was very
generous and donated many items to The Babe Zaharias Foundation, highlighted by this set of Walter Hagen clubs, bag and
his famous outlawed putter.
This bag contains Walter Hagen 1-3-4-5 Woods with stiff shafts, Walter Hagen Red Button iron Set 2-SW
with stiff shafts, Walter Hagen personalized staff bag and headcovers and his famous Miami golf
products Florida putter. A signed letter of provenance from The Babe Zaharias Foundation comes with this lot. 32"-42"
