Craig Wood Signed 1931 United States Postal Card - 1941 Masters Champ

Here we have an excellent example of flowing penmanship from the 1941 Masters champion Craig Wood on a 1931 dated government 1 cent postcard (GPC). Wood passed away in 1968, making his signature difficult to acquire and missing from most collections. The “Blond Bomber” was not only the 1941 Masters champion but claimed a second major at the 1941 US Open and received the nickname for good reason. He was able hit the ball a mile; with a little credit given to his father that was a timber company foreman by trade who instilled a tough workethic in his son Craig. "Professional Golfer" is notated above the signature not in Wood's hand, but most likely in the hand of cards recipient Nat Mindel. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
