"Champion Golfer of the Year" is the finest of golf titles, echoing throughout the ancient golf courses of the oldest golf tournament conducted since 1860. While the game has changed considerably, each edition of the competition adds a new chapter to the now sizable tome. 24-year-old Californian sensation "Collin Morikawa" was engraved on the Claret Jug after play concluded, holding off a surging Jordan Spieth with his bogey-free 66 to win his second major in only eight starts and gain the aforementioned iconic title.
