Colin Montgomerie's 1995 Ryder Cup at Oak Hill Team Europe Signed Caddy Bib
Colin Montgomerie carried a stellar 4-2-2 Ryder Cup record into the 1995 biennial matches, ranked first in European Team points. Montgomerie's right-hand man Alastair McLean carried his clubs while wearing this very bib en route to 2 points and a team win. It was a notable tournament, Seve Ballesteros' 8th and final tournament as a player. Branded with the Oak Hill Ryder Cup tournament on the front and 'MONTGOMERIE' and the royal blue and yellow European flag along with it spelt out on the back, McLean was able to secure signatures of each of the victorious Ryder Cup team members including the late, great Seve Ballesteros (full signature) in blue sharpie. Colin Montgomerie and the dominate European team edged out the US 14 1/2 points to 13 1/2. His joined by the following on the front of this tournament-used Ryder Cup bib. Bernhard Gallacher - Captain, Bernhard Langer, Sam Torrance, Costantino Rocca, David Gilford, Mark James, Howard Clark, Per-Ulrik Johansson, Philip Walton, Nick Faldo, Ian Woosnam, and of course Colin Montgomerie. A signed Letter of Provenance from Caddy Alastair McLean will accompany this lot. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
