Clifford Roberts Signed 1976 'The Story of the Augusta National Golf Club' Book
This book's signer Clifford Roberts was the co-founder with Bobby Jones of Augusta National G.C. Roberts served as Chairman of the club from 1931 through 1976, and was named "Chairman in Memoriam" after his death. Not only was he the chairman of Augusta National, but he also served as Chairman of the Masters Tournament from 1934 through 1976. In 1977, after being quite ill for many months, Clifford perished on the banks of Ike's Pond by his own hand denying his terminal cancer the opportunity to conclude its cruel work. Roberts' signature remains highly coveted by Masters Tournament and Augusta National Golf Club collectors, with the understanding of Roberts' immense impact on both the Masters Tournament and game of golf. It is signed by Roberts just below the Clubhouse depiction bookplate inside.
