Circa 1920's Walter Hagen Family Portrait On Course - George Pietzcker Original Photo - Three Generations with Father & Son
Original Pietzcker depicting three generations of the Walter Hagen family with his father William, his son Walter Jr. and 'The Haig' standing in front clubhouse with club in hand.. The camera eye which captured this image was George Pietzcker, a remarkable photographer from St. Louis, who covered the golf seen from the early 1910's till mid 1930's. During this time period, he was the official photographer for the United States Golf Association creating a visual record of the country's national championships and champions. From this relationship comes the original photograph contained in this lot of the Hagen family. It comes stamped in the front lower right hand corner with the early Pietzcker, St. Louis marking. Original Pietzcker's are seldom seen especially from this early St. Louis time period prior to him moving his studio to Miami Beach, Fl in the mid-1930's. Image comes deluxe framed with identifier in mat cut out Pietzckes (sic). Pietzcker's passing would come in December, 1971, the same month and year as Bobby Jones, leaving a rich visual legacy of golf's Golden Age. Image measures 12" x 10", and framed measures 21" x 20". Crystal clear image remains excellent to near mint condition. A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
