Circa 1900 Figural Golfer Inkstand
This large 10 ½ x 7 “ inkstand features a golfer with club at the top of his backswing with a ball at his feet. Laying in front of him are two crossed long nose clubs.
To either side of the golfer are silver lidded inkwells.
There is excellent detail throughout this piece, including the golfer’s Norfolk style jacket with buttons and pocket flaps showing, You can see spats worn over his golf shoes. The golf ball shows the detail of a line cut gutty.
The base features a scrolled design and rests on four large animal type feet ( you can even see the toe nails on the feet.
All in all, a finely crafted piece that displays excellently.
