Circa 1900-1903 Spalding Harry Vardon Special Wood Driver with Special Shaft Stamp
1896 marked the year that Harry Vardon became the head professional at Ganton Golf Club, the same year he won the first of his six Open Championship titles. This club comes in very good condition with little overall wear and features two stamps, one being 'Harry Vardon Soecial' on the crown and the other 'Special' on the shaft. Vardon was one of the premier golfers and club makers of his time, with an award in his name presented to the PGA Tour player with the lowest season-long scoring average that has been given since 1937. The brass plate has been secured by five screws. It is 41" from the top of the grip to the bottom of the heel. Club has been refinished.
