2020 May Memorabilia Auction Featuring Ken Venturi Collection

Circa 1880-1885 Clubmaker's Sample Long Nosed Club - Excellent Condition - Rare
Hand crafted to the same high standard of a full-size long nose club was a clubmaker's sample. It was less than half of the size and much more difficult to track down for collectors over a century later. Due to the club's small size, a traditional head stamp was not used. A fine example of a Clubmaker's sample lies in this lot. The grip has very minimal loss which occurred during shipping (please see photo). Although portable by size and weight, this club is extremely fragile.
The final picture accompanying this lot shows the different desirable dimensions of the long nose club head that is often invaluable when assessing a club of this caliber.
15 1/2" from the top of the grip to the bottom of the heel.
