Circa 1800 Chole Golf Club - Single Forged Head on Hickory Shaft
This circa 1800's Chole club is certainly unlike any we've ever seen before. The elongated face would be for driving while the other curved/hooked end is for shots that need some loft. Golf is believed to have been derived from a game called “chole”, a form of hockey that started gaining popularity in Belgium in the middle of the 14th century. An extraordinary club with it's own very unique history, a sure conversation starter as part of any collection. The club offered here measures 37 1/2" to the heel and comes in great condition.
