Champion Payne Stewart's Personal 1987 Bay Hill Classic Champion Stitched Throw Blanket with Scores
A testament to the philanthropic man Payne Stewart when the cameras turned off came at Bay Hill in his home town of Orlando, Florida in 1987. Busting a slight slump that saw nine runner-ups over the three years without a victory on the PGA Tour, Payne Stewart went low in the third round with a 63 to finish 20 under par and three clear of runner-up David Frost. He would take home a $108k winners check, or so everyone thought he would after being awarded the six-figure monetary prize. Payne Stewart could see his golf villa that he shared with Tracey and his 16-month old Tracey while standing on the 12th tee that week at Bay Hill, an Arnold Palmer design for a tournament merely years away from adopting his namesake. As champion, in addition to his sword trophy and eventual hospital donation, Payne Stewart was gifted this black and yellow embroidered "Champion Payne Stewart 1987 Bay Hill Classic" with his four individual rounds and winning cumulative total (including that 63 round) in keeping with Hertz' branding colors. It would be a then low four round tournament total score at Bay Hill, fittingly penciled on the card of one of its own residents. A signed letter of provenance from Tracey Stewart accompanies this lot.

Place your bids now as this auction will close LOT BY LOT beginning at 10:00pm ET Sunday, November 21st. When placing INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bids in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm ET
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm ET
