Champion Hale Irwin's 1975 Atlanta Golf Classic 14k Gold Winner's Medal

Sourced directly from The Hale Irwin Collection presented in this offering is his prized 1975 Atlanta Golf Classic Winner's Gold Medal - Irwin's 4th of 20 PGA Tour victories. Employing the cherished early Professional Golfer's Association Tour logo 14k gold winner's medal design version with the raised text "Tournament Players Division" encircling the PGA of America logo depiction in shallow relief is Irwin's 1st place award from the tournament played at Atlanta Country Club, original home to The Players Championship. Composed of 14k gold and of great significance to World Golf Hall of Famer Hale Irwin's career is this stunning medal.

Hale Irwin had backed up his 1974 US Open with two more triumphs the following year - this one by 4 strokes over familiar adversary Tom Watson in Atlanta, Georgia. Irwin won the Western Open only 29 days later. Fifteen below par was more than enough, with weekend rounds in the 60's (66 and 67) after two rounds of 70.

The verso of this medal carries Irwin's tournament total of 271 in the center below the tournament and his name professionally engraved. Acquire this piece of PGA Tour history, a centerpiece 14k gold medal that is a constant reminder of excellence and Irwin's performance that week 42 years ago.
