Champion Dustin Johnson's 2016 US Open at Oakmont Contestant Badge

Running across the gold-tone nameplate in that year's typeface design of uppercase shallow engraving is that of the champion's 'DUSTIN JOHNSON'! In the revered, classic USGA contestant badge style is the Johnson's US Open badge with the raised '2016' beneath the United States Great Seal and green outer ring. The winner's one-of-one prized contestant badge exhibits the 'United States Open' just above 'United States Golf Association.' The US Open is the only of the four major's with the name of that player recipient, with The Masters requiring the close examination of a pairing sheet and matching up the numbers to identify who the individual example belonged to. This historical contestant's badge was issued by the USGA to champion Dustin Johnson at the historic Oakmont CC prior to that week's result. The weight was lifted off DJ's shoulders and he would go on to added a second major at the 2020 Masters.

The former World Number 1 golfer Johnson edged out three others tied for second place to earn his first Major victory by three strokes to remove his name from the 'best player to never win a major' conversation that nobody wants to be a part of. The week started out soggy with rain forcing a truncated Thursday round. Johnson would lead after the second round and then again the final, while penalized a stroke on the fifth green when he accidentally caused his ball to move while at rest - eventually leading to rule changes.

The 2016 contestants badge is the highest form of credentials and scarcely found from any player with only 156 competitors that year in the field, but only one champion of course. That champions' badge from current player Dustin Johnson's first of tow majors reaches new heights of collectability. Major contestant badges issued to that tournament's winner are less than prevalent, with only a handful finding the public, here is your worthy Oakmont relic.
