Burke Jock Hutchison The Hutch Special Spade Mashie Hickory Golf Club
A vintage hickory era spade mashie golf iron produced by the Burke Golf Company of Newark, Ohio. This club is part of the The Hutch Special model line, featuring the signature endorsement of World Golf Hall of Fame golfer Jock Hutchison. The clubhead is manufactured from Monel metal, a rust-resistant nickel-copper alloy produced by the International Nickel Company. The face of the club displays deep vertical scoring lines. The back of the clubhead is stamped with several identifying marks, including an equilateral triangle containing the letters INCO and the number 36 above the words MONEL METAL. Other markings include H 6, THE HUTCH SPECIAL, a facsimile script signature for Jock Hutchison followed by the Burke brand name, and the designation SPADE MASHIE. The club features an original-style hickory wood shaft and a dark leather-wrapped grip secured with twine whipping at the base. 37"
