Signed 1932 Augusta Exhibition Golf Match Ticket Robert T. Bobby Jones Jr.
This is a cardstock ticket for an exhibition golf match held in Augusta, Georgia, on Monday, March 7, 1932. The event was organized for the benefit of the Children's Hospital. This ducat is a children's ticket with a printed price of 50 cents. The reverse of the ticket features several pencil inscriptions. The primary pencil signature on verso is Robert T. Jones Jr. Front of ticket bears the pencil signature of Hall of Famer Helen Hicks the reigning U.S. Women's Amateur champion who defeated Glenna Collett Vare in 1931. She would become one of the founders of the LPGA in 1950. This ticket dates to the period when Augusta National Golf Club was under construction. The item is in fair to good condition. The edges and corners show significant wear and rounding. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature, and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
