Penning a careful blue ballpoint pen on this Griffith Foxley illustrated print is the 'Impregnable Quadrilateral' accomplisher and Augusta National Co-Founder Bobby Jones. Artist Foxley (1912-1964) of Connecticut's illustrations dominated the 1940's, with a widespread portfolio including True Detective and Adventure magazine cover art to a simple boy with dog hunting print to the high profile Babe Ruth and Bobby Jones portraits - the latter here signed by the king of amateur golf. Sport magazine and numbers book illustrations of the time with realistic and colorful people paintings known or contrived for the ascending pop culture phenomena. Foxley and Jones were both on top of their respective industries. Adhered to a second page, some of the adhesive remnants show through to frontside as depicted.
