Bobby Jones Signed 1930’s Silver Gelatin Photo PSA/DNA Gem Mint 10 Auto!
PSA's discerning eye took an extreme liking to the prized, unimprovable 'Bobby Jones' vintage 1930’s signature on this post-swing silver gelatin and possibly type I photograph on thick period paper. After nearly a century has passed, this signature was not just encapsulated and ruled authentic, but was granted a GEM MINT signature grade of PERFECT '10' as notated on the label above! Jones signed his extremely uncommon 'Bobby Jones’ name on this awesome piece. He also personalized this prize “to Aunt May Brown” with 'affectionately' inscribed in the hand of the golf luminary. This ‘Bobby Jones’ signed photo is the exception to the general "rule” - rarely, if ever, will you see a photograph signed ‘Bobby Jones' as his preference was not to be called Bobby, going by and signing Bob and Robert but almost never ‘Bobby.” These characteristics date the signature pre-1940 which carries a hefty premium! The Augusta National co-founder and 'Impregnable Quadrilateral' victor remains top of the list for many golf collectors - with this being deemed a near perfect signature. PSA/DNA has reviewed this signature and their encapsulation of authenticity #85409938 for valuation, presentation and preservation with a signature grade of Gem Mint 10 (!) comes with this lot. 7 1/2" x 9 3/4."
