Ben Crenshaw's Personal Match Used Yonex 2-10 Iron Set
Our consignor obtained Ben Crenshaw's personal match-used signature Yonex irons 2-10 with welcomed wear in the sweet-spot of the face from Pat Chisholm, 1987 Michigan Amateur winner and Florida Southern College teammate of Rocco Mediate's. Chisholm recalls the aquisition story from his friend, two-time Masters winner in 1984 and 1995, Gentle Ben.
"The Yonex, Ben Crenshaw irons were given to me from Ben. I got to know Ben when I was 9 years old and became great friends with him and to this day still stay in touch with him. In 1984, Ben and I were discussing equipment and I mentioned that I liked the new Magregor Nicklaus Muirfield Irons that had just come out. Ben said that he had a set of the Nicklaus Muirfield Irons that had Yonex and Ben Crenshaw stamped on them since Ben had a contract with Yonex at the time. In that era that kind of thing was done quite often." These blades, as previously mentioned, excellent usage with a wear spot on the majority of the faces and more so on the higher 6-10 irons as depicted in the accompanying lot photos. Gamers from the current unofficial host of the Masters Club Dinner each April are very difficult to come by, these from his bag and available here.
