Arnold Palmer Signed Ltd Ed Provard US Open The King Farewell Print #2/50 - Framed

One of Arnie's greatest moments on the golf course was not for his play, but a display of emotions in front of his hometown fans at the 1994 US Open of Oakmont. One final bow. “I probably did more choking [up] coming up the last fairway than I have in the last 40 years,” The King, 64, said when words finally came out.

This Arnold Palmer signed limited edition artist's depiction of Palmer waving to the crowd in front of the US Open trophy outline by Provard is numbered just #2/50. The jet black legible signature from The King adorns this stunning detailed and colorful composition capturing the emotion of the moment. It is the first time we have auctioned this artwork - framed canvas with an etched gold-tone nameplate 'US Open The King Farewell.' Palmer was by many accounts the most beloved golfer of all-time. This event being just an hour out of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, 'Arnie's Army' did not have to travel far - but without question, they would have. It was a moment in which the game of golf was more important than just the leaderboard. So much more. 36 1/2 x 26." James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot. A Letter of Provenance from Will Mann will accompany this lot.
