Arnold Palmer Signed 1960 US Open at Cherry Hills CC Print - Framed
Arnold Palmer won the 1960 U.S. Open Championship, a year known for a farewell to legend Ben Hogan, and a welcoming for Jack Nicklaus. Let's not forget about Palmer and 'The Charge,' which came after Arnie came back from seven strokes down entering Sunday's round before he went on to register a final round of 65 to beat Nicklaus and the rest of the field. Offered here is a print from the US Open at Cherry Hill signed by the Champion himself, Arnie. The matting reads as follows:
"Arnold Palmer on the 12th Green
Cherry Hills Country Club, Denver, Colorado
Site of the 1960 U.S. Open Golf Championship
Tension was mounting as 'Arnie's Army' waited for Palmer to hole out for a par on the par 3 12th hole. In the greatest come from behind charge in Open history, Arnold Palmer moved up twelve players and seven strokes for a final round 65 and 280 total for victory.
The framed piece measures 33 1/2" x 25
