Arnold Palmer Signed 1960 US Open at Cherry Hills Badge
The 1960 US Open resulted in the iconic red visor toss after Arnold Palmer claimed his lone US Open title. On the course to witness Palmer's significant win at Cherry Hills was this Season-Grounds and Clubhouse badge for the entire June 13-18th period. Arnie graced this weekly badge #4406 across the center with his black sharpie signature - preferred news for a ticket/badge collector or member of Arnie's Army. The tournament was one of the most memorable editions in the storied history of the USGA event. It featured the last challenge for legend Ben Hogan, the beginning of Jack Nicklaus' career, and 'The Charge' delivered by Arnold Palmer coming from seven strokes back entering the final round Palmer registered a win for the ages. Before a sizeable television audience, The King in victory raised the nations love of golf and started an army of followers for Arnie. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
