Antique Otis H. George Special Hand Forged Hickory Shaft Cleek Golf Club
This is an antique golf club known as a cleek, featuring a hickory shaft and a hand-forged iron head. The head displays a decorative punched face pattern consisting of horizontal rows of alternating dots and dashes. The long, tapered hosel is secured to the shaft with metal pins. The club head is marked with several stamps. The toe is stamped with the initials H.A.W. and the center of the head features an oval stamp reading OTIS H. GEORGE SPECIAL, surmounted by the words GUARANTEED HAND FORGED. The sole of the club is stamped CLEEK. The shaft is crafted from wood with a visible natural grain and an aged finish. The club is topped with a black leather wrap-style grip. Otis H. George was a golf professional active in the United States during the early 20th century. 40 1/2"
