Antique H.G. Jolly Foxgrove Golf Club Hickory Shafted Hand Forged Putter
This antique golf club is a hand-forged blade putter from the early 20th century, bearing the stamp of professional golfer Herbert George Jolly (H.G. Jolly). The club features a forged steel head with a classic blade shape. The face of the club is decorated with a centered grid of punch-mark dots flanked by vertical scoring lines at the heel and toe. The reverse side of the head contains several stamped marks, including Warranted, Hand Forged, and Putter. A central geometric cleek mark shows a square containing an X adjacent to a letter C. On the right side of the head, stamps identify the professional and location as H.G. Jolly, Beckenham, and Foxgrove G.C. The head is mounted to a tapered hickory wood shaft and finished with a traditional black leather wrap grip. H.G. Jolly was the club professional at Foxgrove Golf Club in Beckenham from approximately 1912 to 1928.
