A Pair of 1992 United States Golf Association Gene Sarazen A Champions Story Exhibition Booklets
A pair of matching exhibition catalogs titled Gene Sarazen: A Champion's Story, published by the United States Golf Association (USGA) Museum and Library. The text was authored by renowned golf writer Herbert Warren Wind for a special exhibit held from May 16 to November 1, 1992, celebrating Sarazen's 90th birthday. Each staple-bound softcover booklet features a dark green cover with a black and white photograph of Gene Sarazen being carried by a crowd after a victory. The interior consists of 16 numbered pages on off-white paper stock. The content includes a foreword by Thomas W. Chisholm, Chairman of the Museum and Library Committee, followed by a biographical narrative divided into sections such as The Grand Slam, The Early Years, The PGA Championship, The Masters, and Life on the Farm. The booklets are illustrated with numerous archival black and white photographs documenting Sarazen's professional career and personal life. The inside front cover features the printed seal of the United States Golf Association, and the back cover displays a framed photographic portrait of the mature golfer.
