A Group of Birks Sterling Silver Golfing Prize Spoons and Personal Accessories
This lot comprises a collection of six sterling silver items with a golfing theme, including prize spoons, a vesta case, and a mechanical pencil. The group contains a set of matching spoons with pointed handles. These handles are hand-engraved with the inscription Royal York G.C., various initials including G.B. and H.B., and the date 1931. The reverse of each spoon stem is stamped with the maker mark BIRKS and STERLING. Also included is a rectangular sterling silver vesta case with rounded corners and a hinged lid. The front features a high-relief repousse figure of a golfer in early 20th-century attire in a putting stance. The base is equipped with a corrugated striking surface, and the inner rim is stamped STERLING. The group is completed by a mechanical pencil with a removable cap. The top of the pencil features a cluster of stylized golf club heads. The pencil includes a pocket clip and a textured grip area.
