A Collection of Golf Tournament and Country Club Commemorative Metal Money Clips
A collection of assorted metal money clips featuring various golf tournaments, country clubs, and professional organizations. The group includes items in bronze-tone, silver-tone, and gold-tone finishes, with several featuring multi-color enamel accents. Commemorative pieces represent events such as the 2001 Colonial Cup at Colonial Country Club, the Nissan Open at Riviera Country Club, the 2005 PGA Winter Tournament Program sponsored by TaylorMade and Adidas, and the 1997 Pittsburgh Senior Classic. Other clips feature logos for the PGA Tour Partners Club, Nevillewood Country Club, the Giant Eagle LPGA Classic, and the 2004 St. Jude Golf Classic.
Personalization is present on several pieces, including a Hole-in-One commemorative awarded to Tony Triscari at Club Walden (dated 2012) and multiple United States Golf Association (USGA) items belonging to Peter L. Wilkes, including two identical crossed-club design clips and a member clip from 1975. One silver-tone clip features a facsimile signature of Jack Nicklaus.
Identifiable makers marks and brands include Proclip by PG&A (Jacksonville, FL), Anson (bearing patent number 3,049,772), Ahead, and CMC Golf. The clips are constructed from die-struck or cast base metals with embossed, engraved, and enameled details.
