2012 Official Ryder Cup Trophy Given to Past PGA President Jim Remy

Unreservedly stunning and endlessly intricate is this gold plated official 2012 Ryder Cup Trophy showcasing the master craftsman engravings of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and the ten other United States player and Captain Davis Love II facsimile signatures wrapped around the matching gold plated plinth band. Centered is the stacked '2012 Ryder Cup - Jim Remy' on this seldom seen prize only issued to players, captains and PGA Presidents. Trophy recipient Jim Remy was PGA of America President in 2008-10 and contributed as the Honorary President at the 2012 Ryder Cup. The PGA of America's 'Remy Cup' remains a Ryder Cup style junior competition in the Northeast named in honor of Jim Remy who served in eight Ryder Cups while part of the governing body. Difficult to look away from, this Ryder Cup exudes excellence in the classic trophy design that Samuel Ryder began in 1927. Precious metal makers marks are found upon examination on the bowl and at the bottom of the band. "The Ryder Cup" is also carefully added to the back side of the bowl in stylized deep engraving.

The 2012 Ryder Cup biennial international matches were quickly dubbed the 'Miracle in Medinah' after the near impossible happened. A short drive out of Chicago, IL, the European team needed exactly 8 1/2 points to win the Ryder Cup on the final day Sunday. Remarkably they won 8 matches and halved the final. The United States had entered as one of the most skilled tams in the competition's modern day and left on the wrong side of history. This example of the prestigious dual-handled trophy with a removable top, similar to Tiger Woods' player version for instance, is 12" tall and the five-tiered wooden base has a diameter of 4". This centerpiece is deserving of inclusion in the finest golf collections of the world, be it private or that of institutional or public nature.
