2008 North & South Senior Men's Championship at Pinehurst Country Club Runner-Up Putter Boy Trophy
Similar to the North & South Amateur tournament, business owner and accomplished amateur golfer Spike Smith received this Putter Boy sundial trophy for his runner-up finish at the 2005 North & South Senior Men's Championship Tournament. A long running tournament itself, 2008 represented its 57th playing. The familiar bronze sundial sits atop the large wooden base with engraved nameplate. Perhaps the most visually impressive of all individual symbols of golfing tradition, the trademarked logo boy is known as "The Golf Lad" or "The Golf Boy." This historic symbol of Pinehurst Country Club is presented in this lot as a bronze sundial atop a black base. The storied resort club has hosted, including 2024, four US Opens, three US Amateurs, a PGA Championship and Ryder Cup and is considered the "Home of Golf" in the United States. Additionally, The United States Golf Association has brought the World Golf Hall of Fame to Pinehurst, North Carolina and rightfully so. 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 10 1/2"
