2003 USGA Women’s Open Championship Robbins Co. Stamping Die (D)

This original, vintage stamping die was manufactured by The Robbins Company of Attleboro, MA and stored for decades in their archives since it was used to produce the 2003 badge for the USGA WOMEN’S OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. The detailed engraving displays the badge design in reverse with the tournament date of 2003. The die is dated December 1996 on the side suggesting that Robbins added the 2003 date to an existing badge die to reduce production costs for the USGA. The dimensions are approximately 3 ½” x 4” x 2 ½” high. The die weighs approximately 9 lb 8 oz and is in Excellent condition. A single hardened steel die could be used to produce thousands of stampings so it is likely that this die is unique. Please note that the close up photo has been reversed to show how the completed item would present.
