2001 Warburg Cup at Kiawah Full Team Signed UBS Warburg Cup Full Size Golf Bag
The Warburg Cup was a team golf tournament involving two teams, one from the United States and another team representing the "Rest of the World." The tournament ran from 2001 to 2004. This multi-signed bag is from the inaugural UBS Warburg Cup held at Kiawah Island, signed by captain Gary Player and each of his players. The full list of signers is as follows: Gary Player, Nick Faldo, Ian Woosnam, Bernhard Langer, Sam Torrence, Isao Aoki, Frank Nobilo, Jose Maria Canizares, Denis Durnian, Stewart Ginn, Ian Stanley, and Desmond Smyth. The rules were that six golfers on each side had to be 50 or over, and the remaining six had to be in their forties. It was sanctioned by the PGA Tour and the European Seniors Tour. Like the Ryder Cup, the competition was a mixture of foursome matches, four ball matches and single matches.
