1981 The OPEN Championship Contestant Gift Sterling Silver 17 oz. Old Tom Young Tom Morris Medallion
Impressively made in 1981 by Alexander Kirkwood & Son of Edinburgh for Contestants in the British Open that year. This beauty features Old Tom Morris and Young Tom on the front in classic pose and the reverse is engraved and hallmarked. Reads: “Tom Morris Born 16th June 1821- Died 24th May 1908 Open Champion 1861-1862-1864-1867 Tom Morris Junior Born 20th April 1851 - Died 25th December 1875 Open Champion 1868-1869-1870-1872.” A superb sterling medal, thick and exquisite. Measures 4” in diameter and weighs over 1 pound. The original leather case with velvet lining is included.
