1978 PGA Championship at Oakmont CC #266 Marshall Badge - John Mahaffey Winner
After holding the 54 hole lead, Tom Watson shot a 73 on Sunday to open the door for the other competitors. The 60th PGA Championship at Oakmont Country Club saw John Mahaffey win his only major championship in a sudden-death playoff over Jerry Pate and Tom Watson. Jerry Pate had his chance on the final day, lipping out a 4ft putt for par on the 72nd hole. Has original Marshall nameplate of O. Hopf
