1970 Open Championship at St. Andrews Season Badge #5 - Jack Nicklaus Winner
Hallowed be, Thy Old Course at St. Andrews held the 1970 Open Championship and saw the 'Golden Bear' take home his 2nd Claret Jug. In this lot we are offering a baby blue SEASON admission circle badge with the low #5(!) to course that week July 6th-11th stamped on verso, complete with original green string. The thrilling victory required Jack Nicklaus' 18-hole Sunday playoff over Doug Sanders with a narrow margin of 72 to Sanders' 73 for Nicklaus's second Open and eighth of 16 majors. Hard to look away from this dandy of a ducat. Open Championship tickets tend to be more of a challenge than their stateside counterparts, so bid accordingly.
