1965 Masters Tournament First Round Admission Ticket Badge No. 799
An original circular admission badge for the first round of the 1965 Masters Tournament held at Augusta National Golf Club. The ticket is made of orange cardstock with a metal-reinforced eyelet at the top and its original hanging string attached. The front features the Augusta National Golf Club logo in black, consisting of a United States map with a flagstick at the location of Augusta. Stamped in the upper right is the number 799. Text printed in black and dark red includes 1965, MASTERS TOURNAMENT, THURSDAY - APRIL 8th, and TICKET MUST BE DISPLAYED. The reverse side contains additional event details, identifying the FIRST ROUND and the date. A price breakdown is printed below, listing an estimated price of $4.51, federal tax of 35 cents, and state tax of 14 cents, for a total purchase price of $5.00. The bottom contains a standard disclaimer regarding the seller's rights. A small, unidentified ink mark is visible at the bottom of the reverse. This tournament marked Jack Nicklaus's second Masters victory, where he set a then-record score.
