Venturi dominated the final round at the Blue Course of Congressional Country Club, after ignoring advice from doctors to withdraw due to dehydration from the extreme heat in the nation's capital. The treatments of tea and salt tablets seemed to work for Venturi, as he would shoot a 70 Sunday to leader Tommy Jacobs' 76 to erase a two-stroke deficit for the victory.
