1961 Masters Tournament SERIES Badge #8866 - Gary Player Winner
The 1961 'Tradition Unlike Any Other' represented the first year that Augusta National produced plastic badges for their Masters Tournament patrons switching from paper badges which they had employed since the origin of the event in 1934. This is always a desirable badge, the place which many collectors decide to start their run of Masters admissions, with this #8866 in almost unimprovable condition. Please don't miss out as this one is in excellent condition vibrant green print on the white circle badge as shown in the accompanying lot photos, front and back! There is very slight oxidation on pin edge. A true lynch pin in the completion of what is the number one collected item for accumulating among ardent and casual Masters patrons alike. The 1961 Masters Tournament was contested from April 6 to April 10 at Augusta National Golf Club. It was the 25th Masters Tournament. Gary Player held off Arnold Palmer and amateur Charles Coe to become the Masters first international champion.
