1961 Masters Tournament SERIES Badge #10627 - Gary Player Winner
The 1961 'Tradition Unlike Any Other' represented the first year that Augusta National produced plastic badges for their Masters Tournament patrons switching from paper badges which they had employed since the origin of the event in 1934. This is always a desirable badge and the place which many collectors decide to start their run of Masters admissions. Please don't miss out as this one is in good to very good condition as shown in the accompanying lot photos, front and back! A true lynch pin in the completion of what is the number one collected item for accumulating among ardent and casual Masters patrons alike. The 1961 Masters Tournament was contested from April 6 to April 10 at Augusta National Golf Club. It was the 25th Masters Tournament. Gary Player held off Arnold Palmer and amateur Charles Coe to become the Masters first international champion. There are surface scratches on the verso and a small blemish on the frontside. *Please note that this is a replacement pin, in a different style than the original.*
