1959 Artisan Golfers Association Sterling Silver Annual Club Competition Medal
This sterling silver medal was manufactured by John Taylor and Company for the Artisan Golfers Association. The obverse features a high-relief depiction of a male golfer in vintage attire, including a flat cap and knickers, captured mid-swing against a stylized landscape with rolling hills and bunkers. The edge is finished with a fine beaded border. The reverse is inscribed with Artisan Golfers Association in a circular border. The central field contains the text Annual Club Competition Presented By above a decorative banner reading News of the World. Below the banner is the date 1959 and a Won By section that remains unengraved. Hallmarks on the reverse include the maker mark JT and Co in a shield, the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and the date letter k for 1959.
In honor of Brad Roberts, this lot has been generously donated with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Brad Roberts Memorial Trust for Riley, supporting his family and celebrating his legacy within the golf collecting community and honoring a founding member of The Golf Auction.
