1958 Miller High Life All-Star Golf ABC-TV Cardboard Advertising Display
This vintage advertising point-of-sale display promotes the television program All-Star Golf on ABC-TV, sponsored by Miller High Life beer. 3-Dimensional and 3-D mechanical cardboard advertisement features an interactive design with an easel back for counter-top or shelf-talker placement. The front layer depicts a golfer in a crouched position on a green with a crowd of Milwaukee, WI spectators illustrated in blue and white in the background. The upper section includes the Miller High Life logo in red and white above the main title ALL-STAR GOLF, which is printed in green block lettering filled with white stars. Below the title is the network designation ABC-TV.
The display is equipped with two internal rotating circular dials visible through two windows on the front panel. These dials allow for the names of competing golfers to be changed; visible nameplates include SNEAD, PALMER, MIDDLECOFF, and PLAYER. Three printed golf ball graphics are located on the right side with windows labeled DAY, TIME, and CHANNEL, intended for localized broadcast information. Along the bottom edge is a printed mark reading LITHOGRAPHED IN U.S.A. 1958 MILLER BREWING CO. MILWAUKEE WISCONSIN. A stunning display in golf or bar room and seldom seen piece. 18"x16"x7".
