1958 Masters Tournament SERIES Badge #3759 - Arnold Palmer 1st Masters Win
The week that would change Masters Tournament history forever, crowning the newest king! In the collecting of A Masters badge run it is always a plus to acquire series tickets, which enabled the patron to attend all days of the event. In this case the practice rounds and tournament days which ran from March 30 to April 6, 1958. Arnold Palmer won by the slimmest of margins for his first major championship. The theatrical tournament's most controversial act came behind the 12th hole, with Arnie as the lead. Palmer felt that his ball was embedded, however was told to play it by a nearby rules official and carded a double bogey. He also played a second ball from the spot taking the relief he thought that he deserved, to put that one in for a par.
