1957 US Open at Inverness Honored Guest Button with Ribbon

One of the earlier golf clubs to open in the United States, Inverness has been home to six majors since they opened the doors in 1903. These majors include four US Opens and two PGA Championships. The great Byron Nelson even was the club pro from 1940 until 1944, stopping a year prior to his historic 11 consecutive wins. Here is an "Honored Guest" button from Inverness. Dick Mayer won the 1957 US Open that took place at Inverness Club. The ribbon measures 8 1/2" long, while the button halo has a 4" diameter.
