1956 Houston Post Original Press Photograph of Babe Didrikson Zaharias and Fellow Golfers Juggling Balls
This vintage black and white press photograph features legendary athlete Mildred Babe Didrikson Zaharias and two other female golfers. The subjects are depicted in mid-century golf attire, including sweaters and hats, during a playful moment where they appear to be tossing or juggling several golf balls in the air. The photograph was part of the working files for the Houston Post newspaper. The reverse of the image contains extensive archival markings, including a red circular library stamp dated APR 26 1959. Handwritten notations in red ink identify the subject as Zaharias, Mildred Didrikson (Babe) and record her death date as Sept 27, 1956. Pencil markings include the notation Spt for the sports department and 3 col for a three-column layout, alongside a circled number 14. A small blue stamp numbered 113 is also visible on the back.
