1955 US Amateur at The Country Club of Virginia Program - Nicklaus US Am Debut
Jack Nicklaus' US Amateur debut would come in 1955, with a wait of four years prior to his first of a pair of 'major wins' there. The program for the 55th Amateur Championship of the United States Golf Association, held over 40 years ago on September 12-17, 1955, at the James River Course of The Country Club of Virginia in Richmond. The content includes a chronological list of champions through 1954, naming Arnold Palmer as the winner of the previous year event. It also contains a feature article by Lincoln A. Werden celebrating the 25th anniversary of Bobby Jones 1930 Grand Slam. It remains in good condition as depicted in the accompanying lot photos.
