1954 Topps Scoop Ben Hogan Number 129 Trading Card
This is a 1954 Topps Scoop trading card featuring professional golfer Ben Hogan, identified as card number 129 in the set. The front of the card displays a colorized illustration of Hogan wearing a maroon sweater and a flat cap, with a gallery of spectators in the background. A white text box in the lower-left corner identifies him as the New Golf King and bears the date July 10, 1953. The reverse is designed to mimic a newspaper front page from The Mirror Extra, dated Friday, July 10, 1953, with a headline announcing Hogan's British Open victory. The back includes a sepia-toned image of Hogan on the 15th hole and biographical text detailing his historic achievement of winning both the British and American Open titles in the same year. The card includes the copyright mark T.C.G. for Topps Chewing Gum and is noted as being printed in the USA.
