1952 Masters Tournament Final Round Ticket #367 with Original String - Sam Snead Winner

The 1952 Masters Tournament was contested from April 3 to April 6 at Augusta National, it was the 16th Masters Tournament. Slammin' Sam Snead won his second of three Masters by four strokes over then future champion Jack Burke Jr. This was also the first year the Champions Dinner was held at the tournament, with third round co-leader and 1951 champion Ben Hogan initiating the event. This yellow Final Round Sunday ticket with the low #367 was sold for $5 in 1952 to gain admittance and presents in fair to good condition with a diagonal crease on the bottom left corner and slight overall wear that does not affect the bold, dark print. The original string is impressively still on the ticket.

Sam Snead was a crowd favorite for his straw hat, sense of humor and winning of course. Snead won more than any other golfer on the PGA Tour prior to Tiger Woods tying his mark of 82 at the ZOZO Championship in 2019, nearly 55 years later. His Masters wins were among his favorites of those 82, serving as an honorary starter from 1984 until 2002. This yellow ticket is housed securely in a screw down case with its off-white string running down the left side.
