1948 Masters Tournament SERIES Badge Claude Harmon Winner #673
This series badge was on the scene when Winged Foot's head professional Claude Harmon became the only player not on the regular PGA tour to ever win the Masters. In the process Harmon tied the then low score for the Masters with 279, 9-under par. His margin of victory over Cary Middlecoff, in second place, was 5 shots, and this stood as a record until 1955 when Middlecoff won by 7. This was also the last Masters that Bobby Jones played in. Offered here for bidders is the scalloped edged 1948 Masters Tournament series badge with the low number #673. The original string is attached and some clear reinforcement tape at the top, as it is otherwise in good condition and ready for display. This information is provided for accuracy as 1940's Masters Series tickets are prized items in whatever condition they can be found. So difficult to locate, the ticket in this offering is one of only a small handful of 1948 Series tickets The Golf Auction has seen. Please don't miss this opportunity, we don't know when it will come around again.
