1946 Masters Tournament Employee Badge - First Tournament After WWII - Seldom Seen

Light blue with the original 'Barney Whitaker Jr' paper nameplate is this dazzling, seldom seen 1946 Masters 'Employee' metal badge before you. Play would resume at Augusta National in 1946, marking the first Masters since 1942 due to World War II. Herman Keiser went on to win the first post-war Masters Tournament. Keiser and Ben Hogan both three-putted the 18th hole on Sunday to allow Keiser to win by one stroke. Pinned on the coat and preserved to very good condition is this light blue 'Employee' badge that was used for right of passage into the tournament that week. While we don't speculate what condition grade items would receive, this is as clean as you will find for nearly 80 years old - as depicted in the accompanying lot photos.
