1946 Dallas Open Golf Tournament-Frank Stranahan's Low Amateur Trophy-Hogan Win
With his game clicking on all cylinders, Frank Stranhan continued to find the PGA tour to his liking. This was the case when he teed it up at Brooks Hollow for the Dallas Open. His 287 score for 72 holes would place him fourth overall, but the three he fell behind were Herman Keiser (286), Paul Runyan (286) and the hometown champ Ben Hogan (284). Stranhan was easily the amateur champion at this event and his award is offered here:
