1945 Tam O Shanter All-American Golf Tournaments Program w/ Advertisement - Byron Nelson 10th of 11 Wins
Byron Nelson's miraculous 11 tournament winning streak in 1945 included the 1945 All-American Tournament as the 10th. The WWII time-period ephemera from the 11-consecutive wins, tickets and programs, are chased by collectors when they can be located. An opportunity to acquire the highly colorful program and advertising inset from that tournament with an origin story that includes a decades-long stop in the PGA of America's archives is looking for a new home in this lot. "There's a Record Breaking Pot of Gold at the Foot of the 1945 Golf Rainbow," promoter George May teases referring to the elevated purse on the front cover. Record breaking indeed. Both the uncommon program and advertisement remain in very good condition, as detailed in the accompanying lot photos.
