1940 Chicago Open at Tam O'Shanter CC Official Program w/Pairing Sheet - Dick Metz Winner
The 1940 Chicago Open marked the start of an almost 20 year run which would see George S. May, with his promoting skills and pocketbook, keep the Chicago area at the center of the golf world outside of the Majors. The 1940 Chicago event was contested again at Tam O'Shanter which May had just purchased. In 1941, May would start his All American Open at Tam making it the richest event on PGA circuit and thus insuring a star studded field each year. Dick Metz would claim victor. Included in this lot is both the blue program from that tournament, as well as the pairing sheet. Please inspect the accompanying lot photos for a detailed condition report.
